February Music Schedule
From: Jerry Bailey E-mail: gbailey@satx.rr.com
Hello Friends
It’s time for another music schedule to go out. This is going to be a quiet month for me; I am taking some time off to do a little cruising. My wife (Maryellen) and I are joining some very good friends on a cruise to the islands around Puerto Rico. We are very excited to go, even though I will miss playing for you while I am gone, I won’t miss it that much. I’ll see you when I get back.
To learn more about Jerry Bailey please take a look Web-site: http://www.sambe.org/bands/Jerry%20Bailey.html
To sample my original music go to Web-site: http://www.myspace.com/jerrybaileymusic/music/songs?filter=featured
I am getting some airplay on http://www.am1670.org/, You can pick up AM1670 in your cars in much of San Antonio, and the surrounding areas, but you can always pick it up streaming on the internet at Web-site: http://www.am1670.org. So theoretically I can be heard all over the world, now that is exciting. I just checked out the play list for Friday on AM1670 and I can be heard 3 different times. That’s three more times then Engelbert Humperdink I’ll bet ya. You can still sample some of my original music at Web-site: http://www.myspace.com/jerrybaileymusic This is a station that plays really good music. Give am1670 a try and I think you will like it.
Saturday, Feb. 4 (6:00pm-9:00pm) @ Mike’s in the Village 2355-3 Bulverde Road Bulverde, Ph: 830-438-2747 (map)
There are going to be a few slight changes in this month’s usual routine. I usually play at Mike’s in the Village 2355-3 Bulverde Road Bulverde, Ph: 830-438-2747 (map) on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month. In February I am going to play at Mike’s in the Village on the 1st and 4th Saturdays so that is why I am playing at Mike’s February 4th (this coming Saturday). I didn’t want anyone to get confused or think I have lost my mind, since everyone knows I play at Mike’s in the Village on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. If you haven’t eaten there yet, you owe it to yourself to head for Bulverde and enjoy the best meal you have ever eaten. Chef Mike has been recognized as one of the Top 10 Chefs in the San Antonio area
I will also miss my regular gig at Wine 101 in Helotes. Get ready for the upcoming nice weather because that makes a trip to Wine 101 even more enjoyable. Wine 101 has a second location in Bulverde which is a great place to go. Wine 101 in Bulverde is actually very close to Mike’s in the Village, so maybe you can have a glass of wine at Wine 101 then walk to Mike’s in the Village and have a great meal with a little more wine, and then walk back to Wine 101 for a nightcap. Then after all that wine you might want to call a cab for a ride home, but that is up to you.
Saturday, Feb. 25 (6:00pm-9:00pm) @ Mike’s in the Village 2355-3 Bulverde Road Bulverde, Ph: 830-438-2747 (map)
Stop in and I will tell you about my trip.
That is all I have time for this month, so I am going to miss many of you, but I will try to play really well when I get back home to make up for my absence. I look forward to seeing any of you who can make it out to Mike’s in the Village in February and I will see the rest of you in March. Wow it seems funny to say I will see you in March, because that means summer time is on its way.
I am always looking for new places to play so if you see any places where you think my music will fit, please let me know.
I hope to find a new place to play for a Sunday brunch crowd very soon and if any of you are aware of venues which have a Sunday brunch either with live music or ones that could use some live music please send me the name of the venue. I’ve played every Sunday for a long time so I just don’t know where people are going for their Sunday brunch unless they were coming to see me at Patty Lou’s. I believe almost all of you know what kind of music I play, and so if you have any ideas of places where you think my music will fit, I would love to hear your ideas, and I don’t mean just for Sunday brunch. I really want to find more places to play on Thursday’s and Friday’s. I would love to play every night of the week if I could find places to play. If you have any ideas I would appreciate you letting me know. I really want to continue playing for a Sunday brunch somewhere. Last but not least, Real Estate sales pay my bills, so help me keep a smile on my wife’s face, “buy a house”.
Real Estate Sales are what pays my bills! If you need an honest and dependable Real Estate Man give me a call. Cell: 210-288-8672
Please keep me in mind for private parties or home concerts, or functions of any type that could be made better with some live music. I may not be the first choice to “like” jump out of a cake, but I can help make your party a success. Along with my original music I believe I have an eclectic playlist that anyone can enjoy. I was told by a woman yesterday that my lyrics are thought provoking. Wow, I didn’t know I was thought provoking, but I think I like it. I am always looking for new places to play, so if you think of any places that could use some very good live music, I hope you will let me know.
That’s all for now, so until next month “Keep the wind at your back and a smile on your face”.

Who is Jerry Bailey?
Jerry Bailey is a singer/songwriter with a variety of original music. His music can be described as country blues tinged with a folk sensibility. I have written some songs that fit into that category but I cant personally put any label on my music.
I have been singing all of my life, says Bailey, starting with three part harmony with my mother and sister while watching the Mitch Miller show, following the bouncing ball. We kicked butt on Sentimental Journey. For public performances my sister and I would be picked to sing at special church gatherings and I would later be picked to sing at the Mothers day PTA meeting show. I would get to sing M - is for the million things she gave me - O - means only that shes growing old etc. He became a compensated entertainer at an early age. My first paying gig was singing for my fourth grade teachers wedding. I was paid with a Cub Scout canteen.
Jerry bought his first guitar at age 30 and would play informal jam sessions with friends. He has been playing his Martin guitar and singing for many years.I love harmony. I began my professional career playing with two ladies who played guitar and sang very well. We had really good three part harmony, but decided to move in different musical directions. As time progressed, Jerry began to share his music with a greater audience. During the past several years he has performed at Spechts Store, Fralos Pizza, The Tin Roof and other venues in and around San Antonio.
Currently, Jerry has been performing solo, occasionally being blessed with some harmony from his sister Mrs. Sharon Willmann. He began writing original music years ago and to be honest with you I am quite proud of my lyrics. When you listen to Jerrys original music you find a good story backed by well crafted melodys. Jerry believes that his music may even bring out some emotions in you that you may not have felt for a while.
Jerry has recorded a solo CD and provides an interesting critque! A good waltz/love song to dance to or just listen to is Magical Night. If you want a song to put a smile on your face try Crazy Mo, or She Did It. I watched a series on HBO a few years ago called Carnival set in the days of the dust bowl, and I was so inspired by the series I wrote a song called Last Days of Magic. Want to think back on your first love, check out Oh What a Day. My protest song which I wrote during the height of the Iraq war is Dancing in the Dust. A couple songs about love gone wrong would be You Tell Me Your Leaving and Going Home Alone. I was once told by a friend that he plays my CD and puts it on repeat and listens to Long Nights & Cold Mornings all day. My Sister-In-Law loves With These Hands a song about hope and faith. The Mountain and Dancing With the Devil are a couple of my favorites. I have a song for almost any occasion and any mood, from Fat Cat on a Purple Pillow, Going Down to Mexico (my wifes favorite), Shadows of my Mind and a song I wrote for my lovely wife Maryellen named She Loves Me.
After hearing Jerry perform, it would be apparent that his musical influences are artists like Bonnie Raitt (the best female singer in the world), John Prine, Stephen Stills, Bob Seger, CSN, Elton John, Lyle Lovette, Counting Crows, to name a few.
I hope to see and meet you all at some point and time. Please be sure to stop and introduce yourself if you come out to hear me play. 06/18/10
