Instrumentalist/singer/composer Rick Henderson, a sarode disciple of the great master Ali Akbar Khan, leads an ensemble drawing on Indian, world music and jazz talent throughout the South Texas area. The sarode is a 25-stringed fretless lute-like instrument. Ragavatar offers a unique and refreshing musical experience combining the rich traditions of classical Indian ragas, world music and kirtan (sacred chant). Special events, weddings, concerts, clubs, yoga retreats and more. Monthly Kirtan group meets at Two Hearts Yoga studio. Private instruction in North Indian instrumental and vocal music available.
